The scorpion master

This little flash light is something that the Lord made so that I could have a cheap thrill.  I have been wanting to hunt for these suckers for sometime now, but only had a huge gigantic halloween black light.  Then my sweet friends blogged about this amazing tool and I got gitty.
Today my good friend and I went to lowes to get somethings....this was on my list.  As we swam in her pool today we were accompanied by a huge wolf spider that was bigger than any I have ever seen.   The sucker walked on water...not cool.  So we both were freakin about who was gonna kill it...I won that prize.  I tried, the thing ran on the water into the filter thing.  We screamed and jumped out of the pool like no ones business.  Trying to assure my little pia that everything was okay.  She took the lid off the filter in the cool decking and there it was. I had to lift the basket out of the whole while the whole time the thing is just inches away from my fingers.  I dropped it, screamed and marideth smashed it with her flip flop....that was just a preview of what was about to happen tonight.
I got my shoes on (closed toed) my hammer and my new scorpion king light.  I found a little sucker right in a little crevace.  Flabbergasted and excited, a little pissed and scared, my beating heart dragged me to the door as I yelled at Dave to come see.  He came out with me and held the light while I attempted to beat the crap out of this deadly thing...the hammer was no match.  The tiny little scorpion scurried its glowing little body into the crack.  Dang!
I continued on to the side of the house. Nothing.  Back to the center and on.  Luck! Kind of.  In another crack I could see the front legs peeking out.  Not enough for a kill.  It got scared and completely dissappeared out of my lights sight.  I continued on to the other side.  Bam!  Big one right on the wall for a perfect kill.  Dave held the light again as the thing started scurring.  I beat the crap out of that one while throwing a few little cusses it's way.  That is the picture you see.  See how they glow?  It is amazing.  So I am totally sure that the Lord made them glow for a reason.  It is the only way to find the stinkers.  Plus I am sure he laughs when he watches us get all geared up for the hunt.  Marideth was supposed to accompany me tonight, but her son had his first football game and they were celebrating.  Tomorrow though.....huh!  That will be fun.  Video and audio baby...the scorpion queens documentary.  Stay tuned!
The best $15 I spent in a long time.  This will be a nightly activity for me for many many night!  I feel so...empowered...self reliant...like I have saved the life of someone...lol.  I save lives a lot ;0).
Night! Don't let the scorpions bite (sting).

Xoxo, Tricia

  1. Get a good medium sized rubber mallet. That way you won't take chunks out of the wall and you have a bigger striking surface.
