Newport Beach...aahh

Yesturday and today we relaxed from parks and decided to partake of the sweet escapes that newport had to offer.  We have a marriott time share so for this trip we are staying in the newport coast villas in corona del mar...cute little town.  We are just a few miles from balboa island/park and all the awesomeness of the coast.
We headed to balboa island for lunch and ate at the cute little italian restraunt called Ciao.  It was yummy!  Then of course we had to get the famouse frozen banana and balboa bar from a little ice cream shop.  Funny story with that...so Allisandria had her cute ice cream cone and was lovin everyminute of that cotton candy flavor. She was running on the side walk when Splat!  Classic...ice cream scoop fell to the ground.  She turned, looked confused as we are laughing.  As this happened a cute little old lady, her husband, and all their riches were walking by...the lady was absolutely heart broken.  She wanted to buy her a new ice cream.  I assured her that it was unneccessary that allisandria was fine...she wasn't even crying, she immediatley started eating the cone which is her favorite part.  The lady said " I am a grandma, let me please."  I still refused...what a weird situation.  She walked on and I thought she had left when a few minute later she appeared with money she tried shoving in my hand.  We argued for a minute and she pulled the grandma card on me again even worse than the first time.  I knew I had to take it or I think she really would have gone and bought allisandria a new ice cream.  I thanked her and she said "no, thank you".  What a tragedy in her eyes.  I bet her grandkids get her for all she's worth.
After that we went to the beach to play in the sand and throw the frisbee.  Turned out to be the warmest day we have had since we started our trip and the wind was pretty much non existant.  Awesome.  We left just as the birds flew in to catch the crabs and the wind made an appearance.  Enjoy the picks.!

Xoxo, Tricia
