So after I dropped allisandria off at summer camp I stopped by a garage sale down the street from my house. Perfect! There was a scooter for $3. Yes it is Dora and I kinda wanted to poke my eyes out with a rusty screw driver, but who can argue with $3 for a perfectly good scooter!? She has been wanting one as well as a bike for a couple months now, but im not just gonna go and drop $ like that. If you know me you know I don't like spending money on toys, but this was a must.
So when I picked her up from camp I told her she had a special surprise waiting for her. Her eyes were so big.
"A scooter...for me?" She asked. She got right out of the van marched inside grabbed her tea party hat and her backpack (which is apparently riding gear) and came out and rode in the garage. She even ate her lunch out there sitting next to her scooter. She then asked to go for a small walk...um its kind of hot outside, but I said yes.
After a trip down to the end of the sidewalk and back our cheeks were flushed and bella was tired from walking. We ended our walk with smiles and otterpops!
Does she know that this scooter was used? Nope...that's the beauty of small children. They can care less or don't really know the difference between new from the store and new from someone else. Probably one of the greater garage sale buys I have had.
I should have waited for christmas to give it to her and spray painted the dora out of it, but hey maybe I can find her a bike at a sale or off craigslist?
