These girls

Day after day I face the Sheila and screams, the kicks and pulls of raising two young girls close in age. Dave often asks me, "is it normal for them to fight this much?" I assure him that I did the same with my sisters and its normal. Girls compete over everything. It sucks and even no matter how hard you try, there is always a snarl to give away to the nearest female around. It's unfortunate and it gets better obviously when your older, well just different maybe.
There are a few moments when they are happy to be sisters. Lately they have been sleeping together. I tried to stop it one night and Bella was having a melt down. She is still at that age where she gets up every night and tries to sleep in bed with us. She needs that other body to snuggle with I guess. So since she has been snuggling her big sis she hasn't come in our room except in the early morning just before the sun begins to rise.
They do actually love each other very much. Just as much as they hate each other.

Today we went to the library. I have made it a goal to read more to the girls. I have downloaded some fun books without pictures full of short stories perfect for bedtime. They have been loving it and trying to do story time on their own as well. Never under estimate the power of the written word.
