My little Pia

We started a little tradition at our house about a month ago of Slumber Parties. This event provides us with a little girl who sleeps with us and gets to stay up past bed time to play the wii and watch movies. She has been sleeping in our bed the first few times, but that got a little out of hand when our peaceful sleep started thrashing in bed. Now that I have a belly protruding, thats probably not so safe to say the least. So this weekend we built a fortress instead and slept in the family room.
We decided on a fort because she has been in love with the cute book, If You Give A Pig A Party. She builds a fortress in the book and has a slumber party with her friends. Also we got the movie, Marmeduke, from Netflix to watch on the portable DVD player inside the fort.

I can't believe the excitement that came over her. She went with daddy to the mailbox to get the movie, and was all smiles. I told her to get in her jammies, brush her teeth and clean up all her toys before we started on the fort. She listened quite well and fast. I would here a giggling shreek from her occasionally while she was completeing her tasks. I didn't expect her to be this excited.

Becuase of her excitement, our night didn't come to an end til 11 pm. She was just so restless from her excitement earlier, that she couldn't fall asleep. We finally turned off the TV, (which usually puts her to sleep on these fun nights) and made her turn over and sleep, probably not 5 seconds later she was out.

and of course, the dogs weasled their way into the comfort of our fortress. Bella was the only one missing from our slumber party.

Now also this week, Allisandria has found herself napping...well falling asleep while playing on the computer, or my ipod while I worked/quiet time. I noticed she fell asleep at the desk when I didn't hear anymore sound effects coming from the Nick Jr. website. There was no clicking of the mouse a million times, nothin. I walked over and there she was. like this.

I slowly turned her around in the chair so she wouldn't fall out of it as i turned it, and grabbed a blanket to rest her kinked head on.

Then, on Friday, she did the same thing. Right in the middle of playing a game on my ipod. This time she was on my bed.

I love you Pia.

19 weeks

I was just telling dave the other day how I didn't think that I was showing very much so we pulled out pictures of my last 2 pregnancies and compared...nope right on track, if not bigger.  So after having that discussion, today happened.  I got ready for church, put on my dress and belly all of a sudden showed up ALOT today.  No wonder my right hip is totals sore the last couple of days, my belly doubled in size this week.
I can feel him moving around a lot more and sometimes he is right up at the surface and I can feel his little body.  That's pretty cool.  My favorite part about this whole thing is feeling the baby before I get to see him.

Thank goodness for Garage Sales

So after I dropped allisandria off at summer camp I stopped by a garage sale down the street from my house.  Perfect!  There was a scooter for $3.  Yes it is Dora and I kinda wanted to poke my eyes out with a rusty screw driver, but who can argue with $3 for a perfectly good scooter!?  She has been wanting one as well as a bike for a couple months now, but im not just gonna go and drop $ like that.  If you know me you know I don't like spending money on toys, but this was a must.
So when I picked her up from camp I told her she had a special surprise waiting for her.  Her eyes were so big.
"A scooter...for me?" She asked.  She got right out of the van marched inside grabbed her tea party hat and her backpack (which is apparently riding gear) and came out and rode in the garage.  She even ate her lunch out there sitting next to her scooter.  She then asked to go for a small walk...um its kind of hot outside, but I said yes.
After a trip down to the end of the sidewalk and back our cheeks were flushed and bella was tired from walking. We ended our walk with smiles and otterpops!
Does she know that this scooter was used? Nope...that's the beauty of small children. They can care less or don't really know the difference between new from the store and new from someone else.  Probably one of the greater garage sale buys I have had.
I should have waited for christmas to give it to her and spray painted the dora out of it, but hey maybe I can find her a bike at a sale or off craigslist?

So fun!

So while at target anytime we go we always walk the toy isles.  Allisandria and Anabella just love it and it helps kill time in this hot summer weather here.  Bella loves all things soft and snuggly so naturally she adored this giant teddy bear. I wish I had it on video but I held it up for her and her eyes grew even larger (if you can imagine that) and she held her arms out and pretty much started shaking from excitement.
This little act got me so extremely excited for the week to come.  We are headed up to Utah and Idaho to visit ALL of our family.  We leave friday to head up to malad for a few days to stay at grma  and grpa Bowen's house til Sunday afternoon, then it is off to brigham city for the 4th of July and then back to malad to head up to bear lake with my mom and dad and brother and sisters and all the kids.
I can't wait to have the cousin's birthday party where we celebrate all the kids birthdays and do a gift exchange.  I am in charge of that party and I planned a fun scavenger hunt all over my grandparents property.  I can't wait to have some much needed quality bonding time with my parents and siblings.  This year has been a rough one with trials and it will be nice to be together.  I am excited to enjoy a large beautiful cabin, play games late into the night, eat eat eat, have dance partied and slumber parties.  Mostly I am excited to spend time with my husband and children that is much needed.  It will be great to get away from the heat and into more normal weather.
After the cabin we are then headed to Logan, to visit Dave's mom and siblings.  They haven't met bella yet so that will be fun.  We are so excited to spend time with family.

Happiness

I have thought ALOT since my post of sheer pity on myself. While away at girls camp I realized ALOT about myself and things that I need to change to be more happy.

I said in that post that I was feeling stressed with all the directions I was being pulled in. Here is what I learned while at camp. I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and he knows me. Jesus Christ suffered not only for my sins but my pains and sorrows. I am not alone. The temple is the sole place that I can constantly have my eternal companion and family in my constant reach as long as I keep the promises I made there. Prayers are answered. It's up to us to listen to the spirit so we know how they answered. We can change. All the time. It is never too late to change.
Here is what I need to change in order to be the wife and mother that I hoped I would always be. After much thought and prayer I have come to the conclusion that is is better that I put a hold on the Baby Night Night business and the boutique in Scottsdale. Custom order after custom order has really gotten me thrown through a loop. There are a few things I will continue to do but mostly I am taking a break from that. I was spending way too much time busting my tail to get things ready to take over to the boutique and the payoff isn't all that great. A 70/30% split isnt that great for the bloomers I am selling over there. I loved doing it but it really isn't worth all that time I put into it. It was a great experience but from now on if I decide to retail in a store I will offer wholesale pricing only. I can still make off pretty good doing that.
Also I really need to sit and relax. While away at camp I had a lot of time to ponder. I get it now. There is no better time than now to stop and enjoy little moments. I was really missing those.
I am so blessed to have Dave. He is such a strength. I want to give more of myself to him. So we cam continue to grow stronger in the gospel together and grow stronger in our relationship together. Much love and thanks for all the support.

Thanks!

Are you like me=?UTF-8?B?Pw==?=

Now don't go getting me mixed up with those extremists on that coupon reality show, THAT'S NOT ME.  I only do sunday afternoons with the one paper I have bought and some coupon alps on my phone and Ipod.  None of this printing from 5 computers, and spending 60 hrs a week on clipping and organizing.  Yes I like to save $ but I have other hobbies I like to enjoy as well.
Like everyone else my family could save more and spend less.  I have been so blessed to no really worry ever about where my dollar is going but now that I have children, and times are tout for everyone I enjoy doing this.

I subscribed to the Sunday only paper and I love it. Reminds me of sitting down on the family room floor growing up after church looking through all the adds. My little Pia now enjoys looking at the toys in the "mazegine "
I have learned alot from previous bouts with couponing. Just cause there is a coupon don't mean you have to buy it. If its something you already buy...great. also only buy it if you really need it. Chances are they always have coupons for the same rotated things and youll have a coupon when you need it next.
Take advantage when the grocery stores match coupons for up to $1. So instead of saving 40c on 6 cups of yoplait yogurt like the coupon states you save $1. Amazing.
Haven g a hard time deciding where to ear out.?  Take advantage of the restaurant coupons. Saves and gets you out of the same places you eat all the time. Ian enjoying this coupon experience.  I do feel satisfied when I save a lot of $ using a coupon on something that's on sale. Double wammy!   Try it. Its fun. And gives you something to do on Sundays.  Enjoy!

What a week

I'm not gonna say at all that my life sucks but I will say that I totally suck right now.
This week has been so hard. With allisandria at summer camp on some of he mornings these past two weeks I though things would go smoother. Wrong. My weeks filled up so fast with othe activities that I soon found myself neglecting things at home. One being my husband. I have been so stressed and moody running the girls around, dealing with a three year old temper tantrums, never ending dishes and other motherly duties that I find myself bein extra short and grumpy with him. If you ask him he will say that that is probably me all the time. But this week especially. I am exhausted and annoyed from the days events that I snap at him or don't even talk to him much at all. Horrible! He should be the first one I run to or should be ableto talk to when I am stressed. I love him and I need to be the woman he married not the ugly evil twin sister.
Next I have my sweet little allisandria. Three years old. Those could be the only words I say but I need to talk about how horrible I am being. Sure she does things I constantly ask her not to. Yes she tells me "no" and "why" after every flippen thing I do but that will continue to happen regardless the punishment. I went to timeout in the corner to soap in the mouth to cold showers to hot sauce and now I am counting to "3" and swatting her bum and mouth. The "3" thing is working most of the time and I find myself thinking before I react when I have time to count to three thus I am not as violent. I don't want to spank or swat her bum unless absolutely necessary cause I don't want that. I want to teach her with having more patience and trying to talk to her more about the reason instead of just reacting. I don't want her to fear me cause she is gonna get hurt I want her to fear me cause she doesn't want me mad at her. I just feel like I am failing her completely and I am so stinking exhausted it makes I hard to look forward to a new day because I anticipate he negative instead of looking for ways to make things better. I am totally annoyed with myself.
Next I have work work and work. That is the hair biz the clothing biz online and the boutique in scottsdale. Stress case. I still love sewing and making things but it is hard when I am so busy that I feel like I don't have time to sew for myself. I love I so much that I do it pretty much everyday. And that is fine but finding a good balance is hard. I am constantly tryin to find a better work schedule. It's hard. Hair biz is good although I lost some clients because they can't seem to adjust to my mother first way of life. Sometimes I have to cancel and reschedule and they don't seem to understand. That's why I tell them all the time Saturday's are the best days cause Dave is here to help out with the girls. When I'm by myself I theyre sick I'm out of luck. It frustrating.
I know what I need to do more of is get down on my knees. Pray more. Today I got out my wheat grinder to make some wheat and t wouldn't turn on. I tried resetting it and nothing. I almost started cryin cause this crap always happens to me. So with the girls eating lunch I stood there and folded my arms and said a prayer. Pia asked what I was doin and I explained I was praying for the wheat grinder to work so I could make bread again. Later when Dave got home she was sitting at the table and she was quiet. Dave asked her what was wrong numerous times. She finally said she was praying. Funny! I'm glad she. Caught on. Sweet. So I know I need to do that more in order to have the strength I need to face my three year old everyday. I just need more breathing room. Not all this constantly checking my schedule for things. I can't committ to anything without looking in my calendar and I hate that. I just want to clean my house and relax and enjoy it after I do it. Not because I have an hour before my next scheduled appointment or cause I have errands to run. I wanna sit and read well finish my book. Without feeling like I should be doing something more productive. I am suffering from total anxiety and I feel like I am being pulled in a million different directions and I am not being the best self I can be. I am not doing things all the way cause I don't have time to before my next thing. I need to follow my dr. Advise and pull back out my giant calendar and organize my activites chores work and even spare time until I feel like I had my life balanced. I am not balanced and trying to get there is really hard. I know I can do it. I just need to try harder.

Thanks!

Allisandria the artist

My sweet heart has become quite the artist. As I draw her princesses she pays close attention to the details I apply. She now will draw ruffles and earings and eyelashes etc. Look at the detail of this picture. I'm so proud.

Hello

Check out the nappy nest on Pia. That's what sleeping in the car seat does to a gal.

Movie night

Popcorn is the perfect way to end a busy day of sprinkler hopping and otter pop licking. The weather has been amazing and cooler than usual so we have enjoyed relaxing outside.

Thanks!

Dohnuts

Doesn't that look delicious?
I think this might be our sunday morning tradition.

Grab some refrigerated biscuits, some oil in a little bring pan set just below medium.
Take the biscuits and cut out the center of each one with a water bottle lid.  Now you have dohnut holes too.
Place then in the oil til medium brown and toss them on powdered sugar put glaze them with a powdered sugar frosting. Hello yum!
